Others’ Happiness Makes Me Smile
I sat in my home, with the window open, taking in the sounds of the outdoors. Suddenly, I heard people talking. A baby started crying. Then, I heard a man’s voice begin to sound like the crying baby’s. I heard the baby stop for a second, probably wondering why the man was making loud noises too, and the crying started again. The man started again as well, and then I heard the baby stop again. That made me smile. I’ve done that before.
A few seconds later, I heard more kids, yelling “Daddy!” They wanted to go outside with him and play. They seemed so happy to see him. I imagine that in that moment, the father of those children was very pleased with his life, and happy that he was greeted with love when he walked through the doors of his home. That made me smile as well.
